Link Building Agency

Most link building agencies will take your money, send you a report, and hope you do not look too closely at the links.

We are not that agency.

The state of the industry

The link building agency space is full of churn-and-burn operations.

Here is what a lot of them actually do:

  • Maintain a network of low-quality publisher sites they control
  • Sell "editorial links" that are really just paid placements on sites nobody reads
  • Use the same outreach template for every client in every niche
  • Report DR as if it were the same as actual authority
  • Lock you into 6-month contracts so you do not leave before you realise the links are not working
  • Ghost you after month three

This is not a fringe problem. It is the default business model for a large chunk of the industry.

You have probably experienced some version of this already.

A real link building agency:

  • Builds links through genuine manual outreach
  • Has no interest in link farms or private blog networks
  • Is transparent about what they are doing and why
  • Reports clearly and honestly, including when something is not working
  • Does not promise the moon on a discovery call
  • Turns down clients who are not a good fit

That last one matters.

We turn down work regularly. Not because we are precious about it, but because we only want to take on campaigns we can actually deliver results on.

Why we started TDL

The founder of TDL is Dutch.

That is relevant because Dutch professionals have a cultural reputation for directness that sometimes makes other nationalities uncomfortable.

We do not pad out emails. We do not run 45-minute onboarding calls when 10 minutes would do. We do not tell you your campaign is going great when it is not.

We built TDL because there was a gap in the market for an agency that:

  1. Only does white hat, manual link building
  2. Communicates without corporate filler
  3. Charges fairly for real work
  4. Is honest about what link building can and cannot do

If you want to learn more about our approach, read through our link building services page or dig into the playbooks to see how we think.

What we actually do differently

No publisher networks

We do not have a network of sites we funnel every client through.

Every link we build is sourced through fresh research and fresh outreach for your specific site, your specific niche, and your specific goals.

That is more work. It produces better links.

No PBNs, ever

Private blog networks are a Google penalty waiting to happen.

They were effective in 2012. Today, Google is good at identifying them, and the risk-to-reward ratio is terrible.

More importantly: they are not links. They are a simulation of links. And simulations do not build real authority.

We do white hat link building exclusively. Every tactic we use is one you could describe to your board without embarrassment.

Real outreach, not templates

Our outreach is manual.

That means:

  • Every prospect is individually reviewed before we reach out
  • Every email is written specifically for that site and that person
  • We reference real things about their site, not generic praise
  • We follow up thoughtfully, not with "just bumping this up"

This is why our response rates are higher than the industry average and why we get placements on sites that shut the door on templated pitches.

Relationships that compound

Some of our best link placements come from editors and webmasters we have worked with before.

Those are relationships we have built over years of treating people like people, not like a means to a placement.

When you work with us, you benefit from those relationships without having to build them yourself.

Transparent reporting

Every month you receive a report that shows every link, every domain, every DR, and every URL.

You can cross-check every single link. We encourage it.

Nothing hidden. No padding the report with metrics that sound impressive but tell you nothing.

What we do not do

Let us be direct about this.

We do not do:

  • Link farms or PBN links
  • Mass automated outreach
  • Paid placements on low-quality "sponsored" sites disguised as editorial
  • Guaranteed rankings in a specific timeframe
  • Links from irrelevant sites just to hit a monthly quota
  • "Niche edit" services that place links in old posts on zombie blogs

If any of those things show up in an agency pitch, walk away.

The agencies you should avoid

Here are the red flags that tell you an agency is operating a churn-and-burn model:

  • They can guarantee X links per month at a fixed price regardless of niche
  • Their links are all from the same cluster of domains
  • The sites linking to you have traffic only on the pages that contain paid links
  • They use Ahrefs DR as the sole measure of link quality
  • Their reporting looks impressive but contains no explanation of how links were earned
  • They disappear for weeks at a time and then dump a CSV on you

The common thread: they are selling a product, not a service. The links are pre-packaged. Your campaign is just a client ID in a spreadsheet.

How we work with clients

Our typical engagement works like this:

  1. Initial conversation — You tell us about your site, niche, goals, and budget. We tell you honestly whether we are a good fit.
  2. Strategy and planning — We build a campaign plan specific to your site. Target DR ranges, anchor text distribution, content requirements, and outreach angles.
  3. Monthly execution — We run outreach, manage relationships, handle placement logistics, and build links.
  4. Monthly reporting — You get a full breakdown of every link placed, with all metrics.
  5. Ongoing refinement — We adjust the campaign based on what is working and what your rankings need.

No lock-in contracts after the first month. We want to keep clients because the work is good, not because of contract clauses.

Who we work with

Our clients include:

  • SaaS companies in competitive B2B niches
  • E-commerce brands that need to rank category pages
  • Local businesses that want to dominate local search
  • Agencies who outsource their link building to us (more on that at outsource link building)
  • In-house SEO teams who have the content but not the outreach bandwidth

We work best with clients who understand that link building is a long-term investment, not a one-month fix.

What to expect in terms of results

Honest answer: it depends.

It depends on your niche, your current authority, your content quality, and how competitive your target keywords are.

What we can tell you:

  • Quality links from DR 40–80 sites in your niche move the needle
  • Consistent link building over 6–12 months produces compounding ranking gains
  • You will not see dramatic results in month one — and anyone telling you otherwise is lying to you

We give every new client a realistic projection at the start based on their specific situation. Not a generic guarantee.
